i’ve bought 4 drum libraries from Toontrack SDX’s 3.0 to try and find this one particular sound.
This is the sound. When distorted or processed aggressively, it can get you Tame Impala drum sounds, Roosevelt drum sounds, and it can take a lot of processing because of how short and fat they are.
I formally request this type of library SDX (not ezx please) from toontrack. I dont mean to sound entitled, sorry if i am! I just feel there is a serious lack of this sound and in other competitor drum libraries that i wont name out of respect, this sound is found literally in every expansion, especially their vintage selection. The reason i want Toontrack to make one is because i believe in toontrack as a company that offers top quality and their sampling process is impeccable.
I just wish everything wasnt about huge rooms and famous studios. Record this in a closet with excellent mics and drums and tons of moongel / torillas and let us make dry punchy funk records! Lots of love
i have custom and vintage, and i have Decades. Neither of those deaded sounds are quite like this one. It really does require a small, super dead room, and heavy deadening for resonance like in this video. Cheers
