Hi!
As i understand it it will be possible to record my own drumtrack with e-drums in SD3 without having to use Another DAW as Logic or PT, is that true?
If so is it also possible to drag an WAV-file “back-track” with for example the guitar part i want to add drums to and then bounce the drum track?
Thank you!
I was under the impression recording live e-drum would be feasible, but it does not seem possible. I could not find the record button anyway.
I’d be interested to know the response to your second question as well. That would be terrific, but I doubt it’s possible either. I hope I’m wrong though. 🙂
Actually, recording edrums withing the SD3 program is possible.
Taken from the Toontrack website:
“No need for a DAW – capture your performance directly in the Song Track of Superior Drummer 3”
I searched for “capture” and “record” in the manual, but that didn’t returned anything.

It is among the other track transport buttons at the very bottom below the track.
It has a circle symbol on it.

Is it possible to add, for example, a guitar track into SD3 to record drums, by e-drums, to?
Thank you!

Hi,
if you mean that you wish to load a track to jam to in the standalone application, the answer is no.

John, is right. The best we have to offer here is that you can
drag a guitar track into SD3 and make an X-drum out of it.
Then you, or the song track, can hit that X-drum and the guitar
track will play. Not a very convenient way to record an e-drum
track.

And by “X-drum”, Olof simply means “Add Instrument” in the Drums tab 🙂

Just because there’s no clear answer in here: Yes you can record in Superior drummer 3. At the bottom of the screen below the song/midi track you have to hit the record (circle) button. In order for it to start recording, for some stupid reason, you have to hit the play button!

Thanked by: Corporal HicksI record drums like this as well. What works well for me, and bypasses latency, is recording with the drum channel muted in protools so you’re hearing everything in the song.
I’m using SD3 with Studio One DAW. My midi/record button in SD3 is ‘greyed out’ – have I done something wrong? Please can you help…Thanks…

It’s greyed out when you are using the Grid Editor. Close it to enable recording!

If I could hug a virtual hug through the net I will do it now.
You have no idea how much time I was asking myself : “for the love of god I pressed record button, why the hell it doesn’t record!!!”
And then I read your answer.
ToonTrack, please fix this usability bug!
Thanks again!

Thanked by: Corporal HicksI have an Alesis sample pad pro and would like to record into SD3. Is it possible to play to the SD3 click without latency. I backed the buffer speed down to 64 and still have latency. How do I record from my Alesis to SD3. Yes I’m new to SD3.
