I tried the demo and liked it – a lot of cash for a bass only plugin though, but great if you’re a bass player.

The RC1 demo of alien connections Revalver 2 is available for download now if anyone is interested

    More really NICE plug-ins!!!!

http://www.duy.net/duystore/default.asp?numCurrencyID=1! These plug-ins ROCK! I’ve been using the EverPack and the DaD Tape for a week now and WHOA!!!! They WILL open your mixes up and add some beef to your drums instantly. Sometimes without much tweaking. I’ll try to post some A/B comparisons’ if you all want, or just try their demos. They work without iLoks and no timed pops or noise sounds!

The Bx Digital Mastering Eq (TDM/VST/RTAS – PC/MAC) has been blowing my mind lately.
It works in regular stereo or in M/S.
In the latter mode you can solo either the Mid section or the Side section.
Great when you want to soften those high-mid frequencies from your panned guitars without affecting your centered kick, bass, vocals etc.
Many (native) software eq’s fall short in the subs and high frequencies but not this one imo.

It’s pricey.. in fact too pricey for me at the moment but the 14 day full demo is free!

    – You’re certainly right there! Waves have really got it right with the SSL bundle, V-series and now the API….Pity I can’t afford the latter 2 🙁  (or justify it with my lack of output recently)

I managed to remix some stuff in my 1 week demo period with the API – I think I prefer them to the SSL series – they seem less clean and add some great character…..better start saving

maybe you could share the (2) mixes so we can hear the difference …. that would be kewl!

I just got my hands on Waves API collection – My goodness it sounds amazin! I’ve been spending a couple hours compairing it to the SSL pack and I think API’s EQ’s sound alot nicer than the SSL’s. I found that the SSL sounded a little thin and harsh on some things. Where as API’s EQs sound alot smoother.

The API compressor’s quite snazy too. Sounds fantastic on the drum tracks espesh’ when you crank up the gain. It’s got a nice punch to it and I really like the fact you can switch between the old and new circuitry. Yum. Having said that I think I prefer the SSL Master Channel Compressor. It has a fatter more definded warmth to it. Yes’m much smoother sounding in my books! Oh and the only thing that sucks Is there’s no Side Chain feature??

I’ve also just got the demo of PSP’s Vintage Warmer 2. I think everybody should try it out. I’m quite blown away with it’s sound. The way texture to the audio is really sexual. Really does brings your mix to life.

    Regards, Marcus.

How is this plug-in? I don’t play bass, but I have a chance to get it for a steal!!!

    Thanks

ok, for those who haven’t heard about it: Ampeg SVX from ik multimedia.
once i heard about it i was kind of sceptcal but once i bought it.. wow.

the ampeg plug is not only useable for heavily distorted sounds, it goes from bob marley thru sting to meshuggah with ease!!

it’s quite expensive but I reckon, if i can find ONE sound out of it.. it’s still cheaper than any quality bass rig out there.

oh, since the language in this thread is quite radical: .. buy this plug dudez!! it’z figgin RAD! do NOT keeps it on the DL.

Did you make the purchace? It sounds so bad ass when you’ve got your bass hooked up to a decent preamp!

    Regards, Marcus.

Yes, I got the Ampeg plugin. Quite nice. And yes the API bundle is really something, use that 2500 compressor alot. Cool seeing you try Vintage Warmer! It’s a ear opener for sure!
