I thought I’d create a thread for owners to discuss the usage of the Orchestral Percussion SDX.
My initial impressions are this SDX sounds excellent and the articulations triggers well from my TD-30KV set.
Since there are so many instruments displayed in the interface at one time, more than on my physical kit, what is the suggested way to quickly access the tympani’s as opposed to the toms, and swap out other instruments? It seems the only way is to make a whole new kit.
I’m wondering if the hihat pedal can be used alter the tuning of the tympani’s – seems like a great feature to implement possibly in the future.
Future owner looking to confirm something prior to purchase:
I of course see separate channels for each kit piece but haven’t seen them routed to anything but the stereo out pair, and it seems the manual is only available to owners. To make sure, can anyone confirm that each kit piece can be routed to their own separate output for mixing in a DAW?

Yes, it’s the same as for other SDX:s and EZX:s. You can route the instruments to different outputs in SD3, and route those multiple outputs in to the DAW.
