now my question and problem is, we dont have any good quality meshes here in the philippines and ordering online kills me with the shipping cost. i would love to try the lowes product and stuff bt sadly i dont have a schedule to go to america in the near future. so what alternatives do i have to make them silent without too much cost. something in the DIY factor and not by just getting silent or muffled heads. the cloth and starch option perhaps? any other alternatives? ill be converting these to electric drums using the hanging or suspended “coned” piezo conversion.. id appreciate any help on this. thanks so much!
the head is actually glued on the silver metal rim you see here and is not replaceable, i could, however cut it up and leave about an inch or something on the rim of it to glue something in it or cut it fully and use the metal rim as the drum ring to hold the suggested fabric and such. any suggestions?

oh and just to add, im not necesarily fixed on using the suspended piezo approach, im also open to other techniques such as the foam method such as this type http://www.wastingwebspace.com/Html%20Pages/YamahaDrumsPage.htm . any inputs are well appreciated guys!
