I’m having problems with installing the Updates to my Superior Drummer 3 Upgrade and also problems installing the 99GB Decades SDX. I am running Mac OS High Sierra on two different computers. One is an IMAC with adequate (386GB free) hard drive space and the second computer is a MacBook Pro with minimal (34GB free) hard drive space remaining and minimal space on the external drive that I keep my other SDX libraries on (same external drive is used for both computers). The 2TB external drive is partitioned into 3 parts. The part I keep the SDX’s on only has 92.92 GB free and the Decades SDX is 99GB. When I try installing it from within Product Manager, I get a message saying the download has been stopped because there is not enough free space left on the disc. (It seems to be downloading to my internal Drive on the MacBook Pro. I see that I can change the download location but even the external wouldn’t have enough space to add the 99GB library. And I’m not sure I could point the program within Logic to 2 different partitions if I was to add the 99GB Decades to a partition that has enough space for that 99GB. I’ve thought it was necessary to keep all the SDX Libraries in one location (let me know if I’m incorrect about that). So that is one problem. I bought these through Sweetwater and I don’t see an option within Product Manager for a more basic install (less GB’s). I only see the Full Installation option (and I’d actually prefer having all 99GB’s available). I had thought in previous SDX downloads that it splits the download into 2 parts. I had memories of getting to a point where it would ask me where I wanted to store the sounds or sound library and I always chose this external drive but this time it’s just telling me there’s not enough free space. Any ideas on how to install this? Also I have attempted to install the updates to the Superior Drummer Upgrade several times. I’ve downloaded the 337mb update several times and gone through the installation which after installing always says, “The installation was completed successfully. The installation of your Toontrack product is completed.” Then it asks Do you want to move the Superior Drummer 3 installer to the trash (or keep it in it’s current location)?” and so if I click on the Move to Trash option it never says “Ready to Use” with the green check mark and it reverts back to giving me the option to Download New Updates again in that portion of the Product Manager. If instead I “keep” the files, then it shows the option to Install Updates in the section of the Product Manager. So that part never gets updated. Any ideas on how to resolve these problems would be greatly appreciated. I wish Toontrack had phone support and even screen share tech support to see how to best resolve these problems which are incredibly frustrating. Thanks in advance for any help.
Different SDX libraries can be installed to different locations/disks if you like. When you have downloaded the installer and click “Install Product” in Product Manager, the installer will let you choose location and how big part of the library to install – Decades SDX has four different size configurations to choose from.
As for the problem of updating to version 3.1.5, it could be a bundle caching problem, so try to restart Product Manager and see if it still says that SD3 needs to be updated. If it still does, click Show Details and then Installation Info to see what is not up-to-date, and post a screenshot, please.
