Hi,
I’m having problems with loading kits/presets in SD3. When I first add SD3 as a VST instrument in DAW and open SD3, it loads the kit without any problems. But after that if I change the kit or the preset, loading gets stuck. It can stuck in a halfway or in the end, it doesn’t matter. Even if I change only a cymbal it will stuck. My sound libraries are in external hdd. I checked that when loading is stucked, libraries settings are showing “scanning libraries..” and after a while my whole DAW (Cubase) freezes. Could this be a external hdd problem or does anyone have any hints what I could try? It’s weird that at first it loads perfectly and after that it stops working.
I’m using laptop with 16GB RAM and i7 processor so this shouldn’t be a “computer” related problem I guess.

Hi,
is this only with the plugin in Cubase or does it happen with the standalone application as well?

Can you please check the external disk, so it’s not faulty?
This link will tell you how to use Windows’s built in disk check, but you can of course use other software for the task

Actually I already did that but unfortunately there was no errors and it didn’t solve the problem. I also checked power settings for all usb ports and tested 3 different ports. Maybe I could try to uninstall libraries and install those again to different folder.
Without being sure, I would guess that there’s something going on with the disk – or somewhere on the USB chain (motherboard, the ports or similar…)

I reinstalled all the libraries and the update package. I made a quick test and so far it seems to work now. If the problem occurs again I guess I’ll need to try different disk then. Thanks for your help.

Mika
