Hello, I see the product EZ Drummer 2 for sale at an online retailer, which includes a special offer of one expansion pack. The same product at your website is also available and is $20 more. I assume the extra cost at your website is due to maintaining the product on your servers, etc. However, would there be any additional benefit from buying the product directly from your website vs. some other online vendor? For example, less installation hassles, better customer support, more seamless or faster download, or perhaps another reason why the extra $20 might be money well spent?

The products are the same. The reason that the Toontrack webshop prices are usually a bit higher than you can find elsewhere, is because Toontrack never undercuts their distributors by selling for less.

Thank you for replying – that is completely reasonable in my eyes – I got the product downloaded and installed no fuss, no muss. One more thing, even though now technically it’s “post-sale” – can you direct me to the right forum for learning about Toontrack Solo, because I plan to use EZ Drummer for my external drum pads for practice and live – but even with a Tascam US-1200 external audio interface, the EZ Drummer Demo was registering 31ms Output latency and 3ms buffer latency after lowering the sample size to 64. Am I not configuring the settings right? – Thanks again, Mark
You will not need Solo with EZD2. Solo was designed for EZD1 and S2, neither of which operate standalone.
As to a 3ms buffer; that should be fine for playing. Are you feeling you need a lower buffer? I use a 3ms buffer most of the time. I can go down to 1.5 ms on my RME card, but I don’t usually use it that low. Can your interface go lower than 3ms?

Thanks again for writing back. I’m learning that the terms “output latency”, and buffer latency are not the same. I guess I wasn’t trusting my own ears – I’ve been playing along here for a while and it does seem OK. I couldn’t find what the terms meant and was ready to get another audio interface, thinking that USB 2 wasn’t going to keep up with the high end samples from EZD. I’ve attached a screenshot of the latest settings. Maybe I don’t need to worry about it…? Mark
