Pre-sets

What exactly are the Producer Pre-sets packages? Are they variations of the included presets? The reason I ask is that I use the included pre-sets in my SD2, but have some trouble in getting a cohesive sound across the whole kit. For instance, if I want a punchy sound on the kit, I have to try to get the same sorts of effects on all of the pieces to get the overall sound I want. I would be nice if there was a pre-set for the whole kit – if you see what I mean?

Do the Producer Pre-sets have a system whereby I can apply a whole set of pre-sets to a whole kit to get a particular overall sound?

Yes. The preset packs are entire kit presets. They don’t have presets for individual kit pieces.

This answered a question I had also (how the preset expansions “worked”)

One thought – in making up your demo samples of the presets as heard on your website, would be
(1) not necessarily use it in a song, so it can be clearly heard and
(2) include a sample of the kit “dry” (default kit), so the presets can be heard against it.

You know – default NY2 or C&V SDX kit v. Allen Morgan preset X, Y and Z using the same groove? Help us hear what they’re doing and whether those presets work for us?

I actually got the two Alan Morgan Presets and I think they give some good options. Of course if one is not quite correct then you can, using the Preset as a base, slightly modify them and save as a User Preset.
