Hello, i have a Panda internet security installed on my PC. I downloaded and extracted the Product Manager and when i try to install it, it is recognized as a virus. Should i turn off the antivirus prior to the installation (which doesn’t sound correct) or is there something you should change in the PM?
both the Product Manager application and installer are signed with trusted certificates, so all at our end is done to ensure a smooth experience… if you downloaded the archive from our site then I can’t imagine the signature is compromised and whatever criteria your AV is using to quarantine would have to be something else, and I’m not sure why it would be necessary in addition to a valid signature.
… so yes, turning your AV off is what you should do, or source / ask Panda to provide a detailed report of the reasons the software tags the installer as malicious.
