Hello,
I have installed SD2 and Toontrack Solo on my PC equiped with an Asus Xonar DX soundcard. My headphone is connected directly to the soundcard headphone output.
I have set Solo to use ASIO for low latency (to use with my e-drum for jamming), but then I can’t control my headphone volume anywhere (windows mixer or soundcard control panel).
What have I miss ? I am new with these program, and I don’t find any answer anywhere about that. Is an external device needed to do that ? How does people adjust the volume of their headphones ?
No one use headphone ?
This is said in the manual to use a soundcard with asio drivers, what I do. But they don’t say how to control the volume. If I raise volume in SD2 the level peak in the red and sound is not good.
This question seems obvious, we must be able to control the volume in headphone, like when we just listen to music. But asio bypass evrything, so what’s the trick ? I start becoming a bit crazy, because this is not in the manual, and anywhere nobody want to respond to me. I search since days and find anything about that. But it’s jsut normal to want to control the volume in headphones, now I just hear my pads so much and the drum sound so little that it’s not enjoying at all to play.
Hi!
My suggestion is to get yourself a Headphone-Amp or a little mixer for a few bucks.
That is what I did and I’m happy with it.
I don’t know how powerful your PC is, but the more effective but also expensive way is to get you an Audiointerface.
This will lower the latency (depends on how much money you spend on it), and you can control the volume.
You wil find more infos to this on other threads in this forum.

Thanks for your answer 😉
Someone has advice me to get an RME 9632 pci card. It seems to be exactly what I need (very low latency and sound control).
