2.0.2 update is great – however..
It appears perhaps that the “change tempo” half/double time option has moved up a few levels but it still is in the Song Creator section. While I agree that option needs to be there – more importantly it needs to be in the MIDI groove browser first and foremost. – where most users are auditioning and looking for grooves – Its at that time that we need to utilize the double time/half tempo – then if we choose to use the song creator track lane… which most users still are not doing – when we drag the MIDI file there – it would already be half or double time. Just like we do with Superior and EZD(1) and most every other Drum VI out there.
Its all about workflow – having to drop the file from the browser to the bottom track lane – just to change the tempo to half or double is not only extra work – but we are auditioning MID files out of that browser, in most cases scrolling through options – while our DAW is playing – so having that ability in realtime is what we need.
While the editing lane and the Song Creator are all “neat” features – its obvious that its far from perfect – Most of colleagues and other users – still drop the MID into the DAW.
I must confess, Ive used EZD2 very little because of having to jump through hoops to access the simplest of tasks – Ive stayed with SD2 –
This was not broken… no need to re-invent the wheel
so true i went back to ez 1 after buying ez 2 and that wasn’t easy either .we want a real time looper in the daw .simple as . not a song construction tool for non musicians .lets face it if your using this software you know what your doing re rudiments and beats . its so sad you just feel some old hat for hire computer people have been let loose. and the culpability is when they release fancy videos of their travels and samples . and you go to the free previews in ez 2 and they all sound the same . go on
