If we are talking about Superior 2, the answer is: of course, you can do any kind of mapping and/or layering and save your own MIDI Presets.

If you are talking about EZdrummer; no, it isn’t possible to swap sounds like in a conventional sample player.

thanks…kinda crazy as this is what we want to record as we play live. I guess we have to play it with the snare sound and just adjust it after the fact. You already get the choice to change snare, why not offer the type of hit?

Well, that kind of control is simply not the EZdrummer 2 product any longer but the Superior 2 product.

ok fair enough. i don’t understand sample players and their limitations unfortunately. I don’t know a whole lot about drums and other type of hits, but the no rim shot is a bit of a bugger.

Last question, promise :) Due to my lack of knowledge, can you advise why it may be not possible in future to add a rim shot in the snare pull down menu. When you choose a snare type, then we get a played sample, right? Then if we could get a snare rim shot choice in the snare menu, we would get a rim shot sample.

Most of the Toontrack libraries are recorded with a rimshot played at the highest velocity layers, as most drummers do, so when you hit your DD505 snare hard you should be hearing a rimshot.
