I’m pretty new to MIDI but I have managed to figure out how to use EZDrummer, come up with a beat I like and import the midi file into a song. I’ve also figured out how to “play” EZdrummer with an AKAI MDP18 MIDI pad controller. What I would like to is to use EZD’s beat generator to come up with the main beat, import the midi file into the song and then add cymbal hits, fills, etc with the pad controller. The problem I’m encountering is that any percussion overdubs I do manually, are templated across every bar of the song. (Something to do with the fact that the midi file is really only one bar and I’m just copying it across the whole song?). When I do an entire drum track manually this doesn’t happen.
I guess I could convert the drum track to a wave file and do a new drum track of the extra hits, but I like keeping it all in midi so I can change sounds, patterns, etc at any time.
Any suggestions? Is there someone way to glue all the bars together so it’s one continuous midi file instead of the same one copied over and over? Can I have another track of midi without requiring a second copy of EZD to be running?
Thanks,
Chris
