I see in the manual you can, but there is no mention of HOW you do this.
thanks.

I downloaded the DP8.06 demo to give it a whirl.
It appears that DP8 only allows Drag&Drop to a MIDI track, not to an Instrument Track.
I also experienced what you’re saying about Drag&Drop adding data to the Conductor Track.
It did the same for me. Additionally, when I attempted to Drag&Drop a MIDI clip into the Track area (creating a new track),
DP questioned whether I wanted to merge the Conductor data or not.
NOTE: I found that I could Copy&Paste MIDI clips from the EZDrummer2 GrooveBrowser into a MIDI track in DP without it adding data to the Conductor Track.
yeah the instrument tracks in dp are dead for the most part, they don’t do much except host the vi’s…….i still am not able to cut and paste from the ez2 browser to the dp midi track, it’s like they don’t share the same clipboard, not sure exactly what key commands or mouse clicks you are using. the dragging and then deleting conducter track data will have to do for now but it’s ok. i love dp8 so i am not getting rid of that =) all the best, jay
