I have all my Toontrack drum sounds/midi files etc in a single folder on an SSD (each in their own subfolders of course). I’m thinking of just downloading the basic 42xx gig set of SD3 sounds for starters. But even so, I’d need to have it in another location (another SSD) than my SD2 and EZ Drummer 2 sounds/midi files to have the room for it.
Is that okay, or will It cause problems? Eventually I’ll get them all in the same place, but wondering if this will be ok as a temporary set up?
thanks!
All the five Sound Library parts must be installed to the same place – but that place doesn’t have to be the same place as your other SDX:s/EZX:s – so yes, you can put the basic installation wherever you’d like 🙂

I meant keeping the SD3 sound library on a separate SSD from the EZX and SD2 sound libraries. Is that not possible?
Yes it is possible, SD3 is very flexible in that respect.

Exactly.
You can even have a small installation on one place and a full installation on another place. I have the basic sound installation for SD3 sound library on my internal drive on my laptop, and the full installation on an external disk. If I take my laptop with me and don’t bring the external disk, I can still use SD3 – but without the extra sounds 🙂
