I have about 500 gb left of free storage space on my disk and tried to download the stories SDX last night. At about 1 GB info download I keep getting an error message that essentially says there isn’t enough room to download. I have quadruple checked and I absolutely have the space on my Mac. To humor myself I even deleted my favorite State of the Art SDX just to see if I could “make room” for the Stories expansion. Now I keep receiving the same message on both and don’t have the ability to use any of my expansions.
Hello, you can use a tool like DaisyDisk or GrandPerspective to visualize your disk usage and find hidden or large files that might be taking up space. If you’re using a specific application to download the expansion, try restarting it or even reinstalling it.
Hi,
do you have any software installed that saves “Snapshots” of your drive, like e.g. Carbon Copy Cloner? I had this problem on several drives that showed plenty of free space when I hit Cmd+I but didn’t let me install because of no space left.
You can also check this article about viewing and deleting local snapshots in the built-in Disk Utility:
