New Westcoast Drumming MIDI Grooves

Hi all, a little self-promotion here…

We have just released a new MIDI drumming pack called Westcoast Drumming. It’s sort of a tribute to the LA session drummers of the late 70’s to early 80’s, such as Jeff Porcaro, Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie. The inspiration came from bands like Pages, Steely Dan, Bill Champlin and Boz Scaggs, among others. This is more groove than chops.

I’m going to try them with Music City SDX as soon as I get that one.

And as for the metal kits, I played around a little with Metal Foundry and some of the shuffle grooves – and it worked way better than I would have thought. I don’t have Evil Drums yet but I guess I’d better get that one too

I really like the longer grooves in this set. 12-16 bars. You really get a live feel with these as opposed to piecing together a bunch of 1-2 bar grooves. Nice.

Thanks Scott. We will be doing much more of the longer grooves in future MIDI packs.

It’s also easier to work with when you’re in songwriting mode and don’t want to spend too much time on the drum tracks.

The sample that I just listened to is really good stuff!
FWIW – I too am going to have to bite the proverbial bullet and get the Evil Drums … that sound wicked

Scott – if you have a minute – could you post a couple of these same grooves but with the Plat Samples?
