A few weeks ago I won this little contest with one of my new tunes. One of the “prizes” was that they shot a music video. Pretty funny. I almost backed out of that “prize”, but it actually wound up OK. You can hear the song/watch the video at my site here:
http://mark-williams.com/news/
The distorted beat that goes through the verses is something I concocted with Stylus RMX, and then the “real” drums from SD2 come in at the choruses. There’s also a tambourine at the choruses which is from the Latin Percussion EZX. I hope this gives some idea of what SD2 is capable of when being layered in this kind of context.
Anyways, hope you guys like it. Try not to laugh too hard at the video.
Also, it’s posted there via YouTube, so the normal crappy compression algorithms apply…
EDIT: I forgot that the song is also on a diff part of my site at a higher res (audio only):

Shoooot, man … that was a nice video!
Where did y’all shoot the thing? There were some really nice backgrounds!!
Kewl tune, too. I’m jealous.
Congrats to you.
Take care

We shot the whole video right here in the village where I live, Alega. We’re about 30 minutes east of Pago Pago in the Unorganized US Territory of American Samoa.
Most of the stuff we did was in that broken down house that I think was taken out by a cyclone a few years ago. The waterfall is about a 5 minute hike behind a house 3 doors down from us. The other stuff is just scenery along the road where we walk most days. It is very beautiful here, despite the societal problems.
Also, I edited my original post to note that the song is available on my site in a higher res format on a different page, audio only.
Thanks for the kind words, Scott.

Really nice production, visually and musically. Packaged well together. The music has a nice easy, laid back feel to it and was coupled well with the visuals. Great work man, as Scott said “I’m jealous”….
Cheers
