Sounds like you’re on to something there 😉

What’s the source of the strings? Sound fantastic.

I might warm up the snare a tad, or pick another one for a ballad, but overall extremely well done.

Thanks Fizbin. Yes I do get what you mean about the snare. This mix isn’t final and I will look at making it less of a ‘thump’.

The cello parts were added using Steinberg’s Halionsonic standard ‘cello duo’ part. I do have a very talented vocalist which does make things easier 🙂

    Best

Is that an add-on to Halion? Couldn’t find that patch in the factory sounds – http://www.steinberg.net/fileadmin/redaktion/2010_Relaunch/Products/VST/HALion_Sonic/pdf/HALion_Sonic_-_Sound_Listing_-_1.5.pdf

Got me interested. I’m a Cubase user, perhaps you are as well, but I typically use Kontakt for my sampler needs.

Also, while we’re being http://www.thefreedictionary.com/onomatopoeic, I hear the snare you have now as more of a crack, where I’d rather hear more of a thump. Think Elton John snare, perhaps more modern though.

    Thanks,
