I have been wanting some tightly tuned octobans for years and they don’t exist in a library.
There is also not a great timbale for playing from E drums. I tried the 6″ tom in metal foundry but was disappointed that it is not tuned very tight . I have got amazing sounds with coated ambassador heads on these type of drums.

Re Timbales>
The Original Latin Percussion EZX naturally has Timbales, they are fairly good.
I was told that the latin EZX timbale does not play well on E drums. Has someone got an example of it?

Here’s a track I did a few years ago (no vocals in this mix) that has some Latin Percussion EZX sounds (congas, shakers, etc.) and there is a timbale solo near the end. I’m not sure how well they play with edrums but they sound good to me in the mix.

Thanks for that. It doesn’t really tell me how it plays from E drums but it sounds fine. I would hope they get some small toms recorded. I have seen them asked for so many times and they have spent time recording a lot of other things that may not get used very often like roto tom hi hats.

Almost 5 years later; I’m still wishing for some Octobans !
