Need advice on expanding EZDrummer 2

I need some help choosing expansions for EZDrummer 2. I am learning how to create my own drum tracks, but it seems the sample library lacks examples of what I need for my songs. I want to have patterns that resemble The Beatles, Tom Petty, The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Broken Bells, etc. I am not sure that I need new drum kits, probably more along patterns/rhythms. Should that be EZDrummer’s MIDI expansions, or the Songwriter series instead of expansions? I am a bit confused. I think that  the descriptions for the products are better written for those who have better knowledge of music and drum programming.
