Most Versatile SDX as of Jan 2025

What would consider the “most versatile” SDX for a modern pop, R&B music?

Of course I already have several, but have been considering picking up Stories, FOR and Hansa.

Would recommend against getting FOR for these genres of music.

 

I would recommend stories, Hansa and state of the art. Hansa and State of the art, are quality over quantity libraries. Sometimes the choice of instruments are not as versatile in terms of instrument choice. But the sounds themselves are very usable and versatile. There are multiple rooms to choose from. If you like a more dry drum sound, state of the art is really interesting. Be sure to listen to the demo’s

I am very pleased with State of the Art. I would also consider Hitmaker.

Whilst not as versatile as some of the others mentioned for the genres you’re interested in take a look at the Stockholm SDX. Clean, dry, tight sounds that fit into all manner of tunes.

 

All the others mentioned in this thread are winners. Hansa is somewhat old now but is still requested by my clients regularly.
