Modern metal expansion pack is making program run unusably poorly

I use ezdrummer in reaper and it seems that things usually run smoothly untill I switch to any of the modern metal ezx drum kits. After I switch kits audio starts to totally fall apart. Skipping, changing tempo, and distorting. I also own the death metal expansion and it does not have this same issue.

Anybody else experience this issue when using modern metal or any other expansion?

Not sure your computer specs…

If you load the metal kit, save, and then relaunch Reaper… is it smooth now?
