Hopefully someone can answer this query….
This seems to only happen when I record my Roland high hat (VH-11) directly into SD3 as part of the whole kit.
Sometimes, when I change a note from open to closed in the editor (as something I need to do from time to time), the high hat open sound does not change to a close sound and remains on an open sound (or half opened as well). This only happens with some notes and not others in the track.
I have tried to delete and replace the note and looked at the midi map to check if something is not triggering correctly (which is not the case) and nothing seems to work/change?
Anyone got any thoughts on why this should happen?
If you’re using an edrum hi hat pedal you are probably sending CC4 messages to control the hi hat open/closed position. You’ll need to edit the cc message lane in the S3 Grid Editor to adjust the open/closed value.
See the manual link below to see how to edit.

Hi Scott,
Still a bit confused with this issue (even looking at the manual which is not always user friendly)!
I have attached a screenshot. The seven HH midi notes should all be Open Edge 4. However when hits 5-7 are hit they sound as a tight tip position. Can you please describe how you would change this to revert them all to the Open Edge 4 midi note?
I have tried to move them to the Open 4 position but that’s obviously not the correct method.
Many thanks in advance.

Hi Scott, yes there was!
And it now seem to sorted in that area! Many thanks!
To be honest I did not know about this drop down (still on a learning curve here)
Can you please explain why this would have happened so I understand what I can look out for in the future?

If you’re using an edrum kit with an e-hi hat pedal, the pedal sends CC4 data to control the open-ness. The separate open1,2,3,4,etc articulations aren’t used. Those separated articulations are used for hand programming and not e-drumming.

Thanks for your patience and replies Scott!
At least I know what the issues will be in the future if this comes up again.
Cheers
