Hey all, I just got Superior drummer 2 today and jebus it looks like one hell of a learning curve! I use Pro Tools 10.3.something and I was wondering whether you think it’s better to use a midi controller or do it all by hand on a midi track on the piano roll in Pro Tools?
If I do it all on the piano roll and say have the kick velocity set to 127, is it going to trigger the same sample or are there a set of samples at or around that velocity that are triggered at random? If I use a midi controller, there is no way I’m going to be able to hit notes at the right velocities so am going to have to go in and edit them anyway…
Any advice greatly appreciated. Also, I hate the piano roll in Pro Tools, it’s a pain in the ass to use and I find it has some bugs! Thanks!
