Hey all
I have a question that feels a bit ridiculous to ask…. but here goes: I have bought the vast majority of Toontrack drum kits, EZ kits, add ons, midi libraries, etc. So, for example, I may want to load the Superior Jazz Brushes and play some of the grooves found in the Latin Grooves midi collection. But after I load the kit, its not mapped to play the Latin library. Is it possible to do what I am describing without having to manually remap all the midi to match the drum kit I have loaded? It seems like being able to use one kit that is similar in style, (like Jazz brushes) and to apply it to play various Latin midi rhythm collections shouldn’t be a big stretch from a production stand point.
I guess I could also ask: how do we know when we load a kit what libraries are exclusive to that kit in terms of midi mapping? Is there a video somewhere that details this?
Thanks in advance!!
Shawn
Hi Shawn,
drum MIDI should always play back as (somewhat) expected whether you run MIDI included with an SDX together with an EZX or the other way around.
That said, there are some rare libraries, like e.g. the Orchestral Percussion SDX, the Latin Cuban Percussion EZX or the Electronic EZX that have included MIDI that sounds great with its library but perhaps not as expected with a drum library expansion.
Which grooves exactly are you trying to use with which library and Preset?

John
