Hi everyone,
I just started to try out the EZdrummer 2 demo version and there is so much lag and slowdown when trying to navigate the VST, especially when using tap to find and browser. Even just playing back the timeline on the ezdrummer is not smooth. Clicking any of the drums is very laggy. I’m running macOS on a 2017 5k imac, 24gb, of ram with logic connected to a focusrite scarlet 6i6 2nd gen. I never ran into any slow down issues with any other VST and I’m wondering if it’s just a user error problem. I’d appreciate if someone can help because I was very close to buying the full product.
Thanks
Hi,
sorry to hear that. Which OS specifically is that?
Does the Standalone work as expected?
The Demo (version 2.1.1) is a bit older than the full product (version 2.1.6), I don’t know if it is related or not.

Running on the newer version of the Beta OS Mojave. I can’t seem to find a standalone version for the demo.
You should have a Toontrack folder in ‘Applications’ where the Standalone should be.
Such a new OS could possibly be a potential problem but let’s find the Standalone first.

Got same issue with Mac Os Mojave 10.14.3 and EzDrummer 2 v.2.1.8. Any way to solve it?
Hi Wolfheartless,

I am on MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (2018 MacBook Pro 15″) and while trialing EZ Drummer 2 was also seeing massive UI lags, particularly with the animations on the Drums screen, when dragging knobs in the mixer, and also with the Tap to Find feature. It was really putting me off purchasing EZD2.
I decided to email Toontrack support, and they replied with the suggestion of changing the colour profile in System Prefs > Display > Color, and also directed me to this blog post. Well, it worked! I changed to the sRGB IEC61966-2.1 profile and there was a minor change to the color tones that I could distinguish, however it fixed all the lag issues.
I had never seen this discussed anywhere, and the blog post also mentions this helps with Reaper (which I also use and visit their forums often).
So I hope this helps any other Mac user who runs into this problem while trialing EZ Drummer.
