Hello –
I hope you can help me out:
I want to make use of all Ambience Channels in Logic using Multi out, but even if no other audio is engaged, CPU reaches 50-100%
My CPU usage with M1 Mac reaches 100 % on the core. I know this has been discussed before, but I´m looking for ways to optimize the CPU usage. My starting point in the projects is Legacy of Rock, Channels on Multi out, bleeding for all channels enabled, using all Ambience channels including Front and rear. My Problem:
Even at the start, no other audio files engaged, the CPU usage is on 50%, Buffer size is 512, when Buffer is set at 256, the cpu reaches 70 – 100%. This makes a problem eg. funny noises when playing the project. This situation makes record kind of difficult, using superior drummer with all it´s possibilities. Lately i´ve started using the front channels as well, which sounds awesome but Logic makes funny noises while playing. I would highly appreciate your input on how to optimize the system!
System is:
M1 Mac 2020, 16Gb ram, 1000Tb SSD, chached mode is off.
Cheers Pete
Hi,
first I would like you to update to the latest version, released today.
Next, please check this thread:

Even though it is about EZD3, “Live” mode mentioned concerns SD3 as well.
BTW, how many cores are set in SD3’s Settings > Performance?

Unless you own one of the ezx’s listed toontrack does not allow access to the link if you only own SD3. I’ve never known any other forums to be so occlusive when researching for product information.
Welcome to Florida, watch out for deadly sharks, snakes, and gators. Know worries, all the black bears and panthers have mostly been lost to unfettered sprawl, contaminated water, and greased shills and carpetbaggers courtesy of the corporations feeding them. A rare manatee is dying, and a Florida man fed red tide is creating a fish kill some place here now.
Sorry about that, what is discussed is the fact that when you highlight/select an Instrument Track in Logic, it goes into “Live” mode and allocates CPU resources. You can turn this off in Logic’s Preferences. I think it is under Audio > Devices > Multithreading.

John
