What is the difference between using the Sum physical in vs. the EZPlayer physical in at the clicks and ports layer of Logic to connect to the drum sampler track? The manual states to use the EZ physical in but the Video in the downloads area shows using the Sum.
utilizing a discrete MIDI input means you can restrict anything but EZplayer pro triggering YFDS. I don’t remember why the video is the way it is (and I’m not even sure I know which video you are referring). Most likely it is to minimize confusion, obviously flexibility comes at the cost of complexity and the video is focusing on a basic set up that may or may not suit your purpose.
(sorry you did not receive an answer sooner, it is difficult to monitor all forums, particularly for matters that are host specifics – as opposed to technical issues with our software).
