Very basic I’m sure but I’m not getting it…LOL
i use my edrums as “live”, in last L and R outs into my Pro Tools interface to record to a session track.
Now, my chain is:
Donner DD500 mesh drum pads and module (local control OFF) USB out to Desktop computer USB in. EZDrummer3 installed. Speaker outs on back of desktop sent to the Pro Tools Interface ins. (MBOX Studio)
I have a 4 channel headphone amp I’ve always outputted my PT sound to, and of course headphones into that. Now, firing it all up, I’m hearing a very slight latency, even with settings all way down to the 64 option. (I feel like my headphone feed is “traveling too far so by the time I get it, it’s late😜) I’m not getting anything from the computer front headphone jack…
Then, I tried taking the computer back speaker outs straight into one channel of my headphone amp. Oddly it seems to have made the latency hardly perceptible. (Or just wishful thinking?🥴) This would be an odd setup to have one channel of the headphone amp feeding me drums and then the PT output on another channel feeding me…
am I missing something obvious here? Thanks again for putting up with my flounderings…

Hmmm…I just watched a Shootie’s video and I believe I’ve been enlightened—I’m thinking what I’m missing is the MIDI interface is my drum module, which, is sending MIDI, and that an actual physical audio interface would solve my monitoring issue.
That sound about right? 😊
