Is it possible to switch hi hats based on the pedal position?

From what I gather, the hi hat range changes from open 1 to open 5 or whatever depending on the velocity of the hit. I’m wondering if it’s possible to have the hi hat controller sweep through a range of closed, open 1, open 2, etc, while allowing the velocity to maintain its purpose? Or is the hi hat controller only capable of on/off kind of messages for closed/open sound?

Hi,

the HH Controller does indeed control the openness of the Hi Hat, not the velocity. Velocity controls the dynamics as expected. Unless you are talking about another product than Superior 2?
