    Hello,

Problem solved! I accidentally closed the helper tool in the auto-start and therefore didn’t work.

Hi, could you please tell me how and where exactly you did that? Where is the helper tool possible to close/disable?

    Hi Olof,

In “Cleaner One Pro” in the “Start-Agents” I have deactivated various, for me unknown programs, which are always started automatically (I wanted to save Mac’s resources). There I accidentally deactivated the “com.toontrack.installer.helper”. (see attached pic)
That was the reason why Product Manager stopped working.

    Best Regards
    Dusan

Updating ezdrummer 2 and blues ezx.

In product manager, ezdrummer 2 updated.

Blues ezx sound library and midi pack does not update.

    I get an error message

“A helper tool could not be installed.

    The operation couldn’t be completed.

    (CFErrorDomainLaunched error 9.)”

    The EZDrummer forum subject

“INSTALLATION IN PRODUCT MANAGER DOES NOT WORK!”

    was no help at all.

Where, When, How do I find and install whatever helper tool is needed?

Please open Applications > Utilities > Terminal, copy the command/line below, paste it into the Terminal window and press Enter.
    sudo launchctl enable system/com.toontrack.installer.helper
Then you will get a password prompt. Type in your computer/admin password (which will be invisible) and press Enter again. If there were no errors, you should most likely be able to use the installers now.

I see you have a support ticket, where you will get help. The above solution only works for CFErrorDomainLaunchd error 9, not error 2.

Hello. I have 4 updates boxes under EZ Keys that do not ever close despite multiple installations. See attached screenshot. I’d like to close these and have the “Ready to Use” check illuminate. May I have assistance on accomplishing this, please? Thanks.

    Hi Scott,

is it the same after closing the PM and reopening?

If you click ‘Show Details’ and then the ‘Installation Info’ tab, what is listed there?

    BR,
    John

A required helper tool could not be installed

    The operation couldn’t be completed.

(kSMEErrorDomainFramework error 4098 – There was an error in the CodeSigning Subsystem.)

I own ezdrummer2, jazz, southersoul, and today I paid for kicks and snares. I am unable to update anything and I can’t install what I just paid for. I am on a mac pro with 10.8

Where is a download for the helper tool?

That’s unusual. If restarting the computer does not help, please contact support (https://www.toontrack.com/faq/how-do-i-contact-support/) for troubleshooting.

Hi Olof, I have already contacted support and created a ticket. Yes, after paying for the add on (kicks and snares)and trying to install it and seeing an error 4098 (cannot download an install helper) I do find it odd. I really find a lot of people not really having much luck with any help from anyone at Toontrack is also unusual. Perhaps someone somewhere would have a list of error codes, since the codes exist, and someone created them.

This error code is Apple’s and their description of the error is just “an error in the CodeSigning subsystem.” It happened when the installer tried to install (not download) its helper tool (which is included in the installer), so that it will be able to get administrator privileges needed for installing the EZX. It will be investigated in the ticket you opened.
