Another forum I visit issued a challenge- Record your version of a hit song on the chart in the year you graduated (’82) and the week of your birthday (Oct 20th). Nothing on the pop charts, so I checked the country charts. My birthday landed between Ronnie Milsap and Dolly Parton. Ronnie Milsap’s stuff is so cool, I didn’t want to bother it. So…I remade Dolly’s “I Will Always Love You.”
I could have played it smoother with some dubs but I liked the atmosphere I was getting and didn’t want to lose it. I kept it short because I don’t like to put too much work into something I can’t do anything with.
