I don’t see EZD2 registered to your account. Please register it and post your question in the EZdrummer Support Forum. If it’s registered to another account, please use the link in the above link and contact Toontrack directly to merge accounts.

I believe I’m logged in and registered, I have the same question. Sorry to revive and old post, but this is my exact question as well.

Standalone version of EZD2 can’t be MIDI triggered via a qwerty keyboard.

Some DAWs (Reaper and Cubase are twin that I have experience with) allow for MIDI input via qwerty keyboard.

For me this is a fatal flaw and I probably wont be buying full version EZ drummer just because of this. I want to be able to assign a (qwerty keyboard) key to drum in ‘tap to find’, otherwise how am I going to tap and find anything?

did you see my post immediately above yours? Depending on your DAW you may have to tweak my solution but I’d be surprised if it didn’t work for you.

Thanks Luke but where is the bass drum key?

Hey, any chance this is possible within Garageband? My garageband 10.3.2 won’t even recognize EZdrummer 2 in the AU instruments tab. I’m broke and I can’t afford a MIDI controller, so this is pretty important for me.

To echo the above, does anyone know how you get the kick drum to work with QWERTY keyboard. I’ve got the keyboard up and running but there is no key for the kick drum. How do you remap this?

Yes, please, I have the same question about the kick drum, which is oddly absent from the QWERTY key triggers. Any help?

I agree. It is a flaw. Even though there is a workaround per above, that’s a long way to go for something that should be a standard function.

One should be able to “Tap out” beats like the old Boss DR Rhythm units. “Point and click” has a natural/human latency that makes it very difficult to find the beats you’re looking for.
