Hello,
I am using an Alesis Surge Kit to trigger EZdrummer in Reaper. When I play the e-kit, all the midi note velocities are maxed out and cause the channel to clip. After recording, I have to turn everything down to get them at a more reasonable/realistic volume level. I am wondering if there is anyway to control the velocity of the notes BEFORE playing and saving my some time having to adjust things afterwards. Maybe there is a setting in the Alesis brain I am unaware of or maybe there is something in EZ drummer that can control this setting. I am new to Midi drums with E-kits so any help would be greatly appreciated!! TIA
The FAQ page says the “contact support” button can be found at the bottom of each FAQ answer.
You may need to adjust your pad threshold and sensitivity settings in the module. See page 8 of the manual:
This type of adjustment is typical for most e-drum kits. You have to “tune” it for your playing dynamics.
