I’m not having much luck getting matches from the ‘tap to find’ function. There is always something a bit off on each result – even the 95% match results.
I tried looking on-line for matches using the EZD2 “Show Web Shop MIDI” a couple of times, came up with nothing new, but maybe that was just (un) luck.
What’s the best way to get this function working well?
Yo.
You can try to add less drum parts into the the tap2find. If you, for example, are looking for a special kick pattern, try just to tap that kick pattern and leave out hi-hat, snare etc. This will increase your matching % for the kick part. Try to use filters to further narrow down your results. Generally, I find it that tap2find finds what I look for, I often tap in kick and snare, but if you are searching for complex patterns – my suggestion might help you out!
Another tip: if you find the kick pattern that you like but it doesn’t have the snare you look for, use the MIDI that contains the kick pattern you want, then use tap2find to find the snare pattern. Right click on the file that has the snare pattern you want, choose copy and paste it onto the kick MIDI pattern. You can also copy the MIDI you created to tap2find and paste parts from it to MIDI blocks on your track.
Hope this helps!
