Hi everyone. I just ordered my EZdrummer with Metal Machine. I have not received anything yet but wanted to go ahead and start studying how to use it. Ive watched a few tutorials and get the basics on how to bounce and use presets with pro tools. I how ever have not been able to find any good information on building custom drum tracks for my songs. Would anyone mind linking me to some good information on the subject or is there a lesson disc that comes with the software? Thank you in advance.
Custom parts can be created using a MIDI input device (keyboard, ekit, finger drum device) or can be drawn in by hand using the piano roll MIDI editor. Personally, I prefer to find grooves from the Groove Browser, drag them into the DAW, and edit them to fit the song I’m producing. Often, a quick adjustment of the kick pattern will fit the song rather than starting from scratch.

After I posted I looked a few pages into the forum and found a similar question. Found a couple videos on MIDI editing for pro tools after that. Seems like kick pattern is going to be the primary edit to get that syncopation im looking for. Thanks for the help.
