Hi,
I bought EZD2 and am ver very happy.
I use to work with it in Logic pro X and sounds great.
I basically build up my grooves using a m.audio key station 49es (a very common device), but I’d like to try different assignment of the drum kit to the keyboard (for example tom displacement).
Is there anybody able to explain me in a very simple and step by step way how do I change the midi mapping (just for EZD2: when using the keyboard as a piano, I don’t want anything to be different!)? Should I operate through Logic or in the EZD2 main window?
Thanks a lot
Marco

Thanked by: wookimanWhile this might not directly address your question, it may hold a key to getting you to what you seek.
Good luck.
In short: Learning or reassigning of the MIDI notes is not possible in the EZdrummer 2 plugin, it’s a Superior 2 feature.

Thanks John,
If i buy a Korg Nanopad2 controller is there any chance to decide which pad plays any lart of the kit or I will have the same problem?
Best regards
Marco
Yes,
with the Korg Kontrol Editor software you can edit note numbers for each pad on the Nanopad2 and save your own custom ‘scene’ Presets.

So how do you do this? There is no information on the Korg site, and no forum for asking them questions. I just bought the NanoPAD2, and would like to move the drums to different pads so we can track live.
Download the software at KORG’s web site:

(scroll down)
Please read the included manual on how to.

If you follow the link above in John’s post you’ll see info on the Korg Kontrol Editor software. With it you can edit note numbers for each pad on the Nanopad2. Use the MIDI layout in EZD2 to find the kit piece articulations you want to assign to the Nanopad and assign them with the Korg Kontrol Editor software.

Thanked by: Danny BirgeWould this work with Windows based PC, or just Apple. I bought a Samson Graphite Md13 and it says you can assign notes but I found out that only seems to work on an Apple and not PC.
What do you mean? Please elaborate.
The KORG KONTROL Editor is maintained for both Windows and Mac OS.
I just checked their Downloads and you’ve got everything there; software, drivers and manuals.

For a right-handed finger drummer, I guess there is a “typical” layout for which piece to which pad. What basic layout works for most folks?
Or maybe I should ask members what their basic layout is?
Wow, that completely sucks. If I would have known that, I never would have gotten EZ Drummer 2. Now I have to spend $320 to upgrage (or crossgrade) to Superior Drummer 3 for this ability, which is almost as much as I paid for EZ Drummer 2. Horrible.

Thanked by: jonni101Seems you could just take a single beat of a ez drum instrument and capture the sample and then add it to something like Sample One XT in Studio One so each trigger of the key you assign it to would trigger that beat. It’s a workaround but better than nothing.
Yeh i was pretty disappointed by this too.
You can, however, edit the drums in the piano roll/sequencer or your DAW. If you drag the midi from the EZD arranger into the instrument track and then double click (in Studio One anyway), it will allow you to program in the piano roll/edit window.
