Not everyone knows the English musician, songwriter, singer and multi-instrumentalist Paul Carrack – but well-known names in the music business such as Roxy Music and Mike & The Mechanics, with whom he has had a decisive influence on popular music since the early 1970s. And as a regular touring member of Elton John, Roger Waters and Eric Clapton, Paul Carrack is at home on the big stages of the world. I was able to witness him years ago as a band member at an Eric Clapton concert in Nuremberg. In addition, he is still touring the world as a solo artist at the age of almost 72. And I’m particularly pleased that he provides living proof that you can still keep your voice intact even at an advanced singing age
Now it’s a special pleasure for me to be able to cover his hit song “How Long” from 1975 with my two musician friends Jimmy Quango (fingerstyle acoustic guitar) and Chris Schaefer (Lead Vocals). However, our cover version is less based on the original recording with his former band “Ace”. Rather, we got the kick for our project from a very listenable Paul Carrack live studio recording from 2010 and a grandiose live concert recording with Eric Clapton from 2014.
I created the drum tracks with EZ Drummer 3 (main room)
And I’m curious if and how you will like our version of this great song!
But enough of the words – have fun watching / listening!
