Ebay will even have these sweet deals on the EZX’s into the new year as, of course, people will be selling them at the new price.

Ho, Ho, Ho, indeed…! Thanks for the quick response!

Curiously, I had checked both Musician’s Friend and Sweetwater (along with Guitar Center and American Musical Supply) and while I found the EZX package listed at a couple of them, they had them at the list price (well, $79.99 anyway). I didn’t use Google – I used their site’s internal search so perhaps that was it.

Anyway, order placed at Musician’s Friend and awaiting verification for download – thanks again!

Follow up to my own message:

So I purchased a copy from Musician’s Friend who then e-mailed me the serial number. I logged into my TT account and downloaded the software however I was concerned that the ZIP was only 3.4MB in size. It had an enclosed executable named updater.exe which gave me a clue that there might be a problem. Sure enough, when I run updater.exe it informs me that “The product relevant to this update cannot be found”.

It appears that I purchased an update…? I own EZDrummer (and have the Cocktail Kit) but it appears that somewhere along the line I was sold an update for the Nashville Kit instead. Any ideas on how can I get the full product that I thought I purchased?

Sure. Download the full product installer from your Toontrack account (the big, red PC button at the top of your Nashville EZX page under My Products). Then, run the update file that you downloaded originally.

OK – color my face red. Didn’t see it right in front of me (if it had been a snake I’d be dead).

And this after I called Musician’s Friend customer support too…good grief.

Scott – thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I appreciate your patience…

Got to say that when I was new to Toontrack, it did all seem very confusing what was what. Looking back to questions I was asking here and on my usu forum, there were some pretty basic non-understanding issues.

Maybe it’s my age , but it might be an idea to have a newbie page or friendly sticky here to explain how it all goes together, what goes with what and the basic steps to download what in what order. This should be heavy on the pictures not take any searching for whatsover.

This has been done on the authorisation pages (as I suspect it got many requests for help) and that is just the sort of thing that’s needed. It isn’t difficult once you know, but it doesn’t stop people (it didn’t stop me) from thinking “uh” quite a bit until they get it

Well I haven’t been as frequent a visitor as I should have been. The drummer I’d been working with for most of my studio work recently moved away so I’m back to using virtual instruments to fill the void for composition and recording.

As to the Web site design, it’s better than some but I have to say that those big red buttons labeled “PC” and “Mac” on the My Products page didn’t exactly scream “download software here!”. The links in the table at the bottom are what most would relate to I think.

Anyway, the download, install and upgrade were successful and I gave it a quick whirl before turning in last night. Looking forward to the holiday downtime to experiment with it and make some music…!

Well it does say, “Download Product:” and “Software Updates”, but I see what you mean.

Glad you got it sorted, now time to have some fun -you have got some time to yourself these holidays, yes?
