Hi, I’ve a TD-20 with VH-12 Hihat. The open and closed (Tip and edge) sounds works well with Joe K configuration, but I’ve a problem if I play the hi-hat only with foot. Chick sound is ok but when I release the pedal I have an unwanted open edge or splash sound.
Any suggestion?
Alex
Hi
That’s the intended foot splash sound….If you want you can disable the open pedal articulation by going to the instrument pane (bottom right) > select ‘Hats’ from the Instrument dropdown > select ‘Open pedal’ from the articulation dropdown > below the articulation dropdown there is an ‘EDIT ARTICULATION ONLY’ button, press this > Go to the ‘Voices and Layers’ Pane to the left of the Instrument Pane > Go to the Layer Limits Section and select ‘0’ for the soft, gradient and hard layers.
This will disable the open pedal articulation and may be what you are looking for

You should also have a splash sensitivity parameter in your TD-20, IIRC.

… there is also a useful tip at the bottom of page 4 of the edrum guide to avoid splashes where unwanted. YMMV but the Edrum guide (for Superior 1 but 100% applicable) can be found in the Free Download Area of your Toontrack account.
