Hi-Hat, snare X-drums?

If I import a hh or snare as an X-drum into a project, it loses all the edrum mapping.  Resetting the mapping to edrums and other configurations doesn’t help anything.  Workaround?

In the X-drum instrument window, select the ‘Steal Current’ under the MIDI dropdown menu. See page 29 of the latest manual.

Thanks very much Scott.  Yes, I’d read that part but for some reason I thought I should steal the default map, under the assumption that the edrum map was the default with those settings.
