Hi
I’ve searched all kinds of forums and can not figure out how to map the hi hat of my e drum (a chinese unknown brand called hxm, model hd-10b) to trigger Superior Drummer (running as a VST within Reaper), my intention is get rid of the annoying splash that occurs when I play fast on the hi hat pedal.
here a demostration recorded with reaper+ superior drummer, you can hear the “splash” when i play a continous pattern on the hi hat. (PLEASE TURN UP THE VOLUME)

Hi,
I think I would start with adjusting the Foot Splash sensitivity in the module but I’m interested to know which version number is displayed in the plugin interface?

Hi, thanks!
Can you explain me how to know that number please?
On the S2 interface, to the right of the Load/Save menu, the version number is displayed.

the version is 2.4.0
You can remove the ‘open pedal’ articulation.
Select the articulation in the ‘Instrument’ menu (lower right corner). Click the ‘edit articulation only’ button and set the 3 Layer Limits settings to ‘0’.

I did what you told me, but still the same.
I’ve noticed that the annoying sound appears when i pull up my foot quickly, then i cant play a normal or fast beat…
Open hihat is ok, close hi hat ok, close pedal ok, but when i pull up my foot after of a close pedal hit, appears that annoying splash sound…
Help please! thanks
here a better demostration of the problem..
Since you’re on 2.4.0, the first step would normally be to log in to your Toontrack account and download install the latest update (and make sure that your library/libraries is/are updated as well but when I look at your account, you have no Toontrack products registered.
So, the very first step is that your account needs to be tied to your products, so we may help you properly.

Hello there,
I have exactly the same problem. I’m usuing EZdrummer 3 standalone version 3.0.6 (build 35660) [64-bit] with Roland TD07kv + VH-10 and when I play fast paced hi hats with the pedal there is a constant splash sound. I tweaked every setting in the module, on the hi hat itself and the plug-in best to my knowledge but couldn’t get rid of the problem.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Thank you

There’s a setting in the hihat midi pedal mapping section called “edrum optimized” make sure you use that.

Thanked by: dorukThanks for the replies guys. I tried both and neither one of them worked. However, I found a different soultion and I’m gonna drop it here so it might help someone else with a similar problem.
I set the hi hat sensitivity to 7 within the drum module. As you can guess this reduces the volume output significantly but it also removes the unwanted splash like sounds when doing fast chicks, especially when you keep lifting your foot up from the footboard (stomping style footwork) On the other hand, you gotta tweak with velocity and sound values within ezdrummer3 to compansate the low sensitivity. It’s not optimal per se but it’s somewhat a viable solution and can be worked with.
Cheers all
