Okay I up dated to the 2.2 version and I still have the same old HH funtion close and open that’s it I tried the learn button I used the the e-kit funtion and nothing same open and close HH. So waht am I missing ? at least with Steven Slate drums I have full HH funtion and no routing or re-confrigeration needed. But I like the SD2.0 drum sounds better.
If you go to the Mapping page, go to the MIDI presets (just above the virtual piano keyboard), under ‘Note Mapping’ select the e-drum preset. Then go to the ‘pedal correction’ MIDI presets and select whichever suits best…probably More Closed Curve 2 will do it.

Thanks for trying to help but that didn’t do just made it worst now all have is open HH and that’s it’s.
Hi,
If you have your TD-20 at Factory Settings and the above advice does not work, your host must be filtering the CC4 messages sent from your module.
It IS sending CC messages, right?
If you are unsure, try to record some hihat pedal movement and inspect the track in your host.
Best Regards,
John

John I’m not using any host software I’m using the solo along with a usb to laptop an just a set of headphones. I finally got it back to just open and close is all I have with SD2.2. It’s weird I also have Steven Slate Drums and it works fully funtional with no menues no programing no re-mapping just plug in and play. I thought your update was supposed to fix all this. Unparently not. Maybe they need to learn from SS. Just saying your up date really did do nothing for me except changed my solo player lay out.
Try changing presets on your TD-20. It sounds like the preset you are using has had its mapping changed from the default. I would also check that your VH-12 is properly calibrated and would certainly recommend you read the section in the Superior 2 manual that deals with hihat mapping.
As John says if your TD-20 is setup with factory settings it really is a couple of easy steps to get your hihat running great. Unfortunatley I can’t answer why you’re getting good results with Steven Slate and not with S2 without sitting in front of your module.

Hi twostone,
do you mean “how to” set up Superior 2 and Toontrack solo with E-drums?
It should be superfluous, really if you have the latest versions of Toontrack solo but Superior 2 (2.2.0) in particular, installed.
1) Launch Toontrack solo
2) select Superior Drummer 2 and then make sure the drums and cymbals you wish to use are loaded
3) go to the ‘Mapping’ page in S2 and select the ‘E-drums’ MIDI Preset among the Note Mapping Presets
For the majority of the setting up for a GM compliant module like e.g. a TD-12 (which is what I use) or a TD-20 that’s it.
Hihat, cymbal chokes, drum notes will work right away.
There are a couple of notes, like the Floor Tom Rim and depending on your Cymbal setup that needs assigning but not much really.
If you aren’t satisfied with the HH response curve, there are a couple of curve response alternatives presets to choose from in the MIDI Preset Menu.
You can of course edit the curve yourself but I must refer you to the latest version of the Manual (download-able from your Toontrack account) for the specifics.
Best Regards,
John
