Groove sounding very different

Hi there,
i’m using Metalheads expansion on Sonar 7 and i found out that if i load a groove from the midi/groove section of Metalheads or EZD in a MIDI track of my rec software it sounds huge and deep, but if i try to do my own groove in the same MIDI track ( drawing it note by note ) it sound very different with very less volume,shape and attack what may cause this?

If you drag and drop the MIDI groove into your host and then edit that imported MIDI you should see the velocities (the hit intensity) of each of the notes.

Top of my head the thing I can think of is your host has a default input value for the MIDI notes i.e. something like 90 or 100 when some of those nice hard hit beats tend to have more of an average velocity of say 110/115.
