Hi,
What happens when I import a General Midi file or a Guitar Pro file into EZPlayer Pro? Is EZPlayer Pro able to ignore all the other instrument tracks, so that it is possible to replay the drum parts with sounds from EZDrummer 2 and/or EZX expansions? I don’t work with a DAW and until now I have used EZDrummer 2 standalone to create my own drum tracks.
Thanks, Timo
You don’t say what DAW you’re using,
but I tested a multi-track MIDI file that I have by dragging it into Pro Tools 11,
Logic Pro X, EZKeys and EZDrummer2.
EZKeys, like Pro Tools and Logic, recognized each of the separate instruments within the file.
Pro Tools and Logic imported each of the separate instruments onto its own instrument track, if enough were available.
EZKeys prompted me to select which of the separate instruments to import into the EZKeys timeline. (shown below)
EZDrummer2 neither recognized separate instruments nor prompted for import of a specific instrument.
It imported the entire multi-track file. What a mess of drum-only cacophony!!
It seems you’d have to find a way split out the drums from your MIDI file for EZDrummer2 – like importing it into Pro Tools & Logic.
Hope this helps.
I don’t have a DAW, I do my recordings mostly the oldfashioned way with hardware. Anyway, I solved the problem with Guitar Pro, which can import different formats, then I can delete all tracks except for the drums, export it as a Midi-file and open it with EZDrummer. But nevertheless, thanks very much for your explanations
