Feedback on Hi-Hat pad choice

Hello all,

I’m currently using a Roland Vpro set with an expanded TD-10 and Superior 2.0 for sound. I am about to upgrade my old Roland PD-7 with a real hi-hat pad and would love some feedback before I make my purchase.
I am looking into getting a Roland VH11 but am a bit hesitant due to the price (looking at $400). My initial upgrade budget was $300, so I want to make sure the extra price will be worth it. I tested it out at the local store and it feels and plays great, but dont know how well it will work with my TD-10.

Does anyone have any experience with Alesis’s new Surge line or a Hart Dynamic equivalent?
