Superior Drummer needs to have the ability to change kits, or maybe a limited bank of kits, via a macro parameter or something. For those of us that use midi controllers, there needs to be a way to change kits via controllers so that we can do so live. At the moment, you have to go into the software and into the kits and select the next one. This doesn’t look very cool live. I currently have things mapped in SD3 to an akai midi mix midi controller and it’s awesome.
Sort of how Roland modules allows you to cycle through preset kits 1-99, if superior Drummer had that option, it would an insane live tool.
I run sd3 in gig performer, and I have macro parameters assigned to an akai midi mix to adjust some sd3 parameters. My workaround has been to assign a second stack to every drum, and then map a knob that inversely adjust the levels of the stacks. So when I turn it one way, all the acoustic stacks are full volume and the electronic Tom’s are zero. When I turn it the other way, it’s the opposite. So the knob kind of goes back and forth between kits and that gets me to two kits without having to touch the computer. But it’s only two kits and it also is now triggering twice as many samples since half the samples are just triggering at zero volume, not ideal if I’m trying to run as low pro on my computer as possible. I run an m1 and it’s been fine, but I’m hoping the future holds a better way.
