It seems this app just duplicates what’s already in EZDrummer except I can split a track by instrument and change that instrument. Am I missing something regarding any of EZPlayer Pro’s functions? Do I need it to interface with DAWs or can EZDrummer 2 also do that without EZPlayer Pro?
Hi,
EZplayer Pro is quite a few years older than EZdrummer 2 and the two are very different when it comes to their functions.
EZplayer Pro needs other VI’s to provide the sounds, since it is a MIDI arranger/player/mapping converter/splitter etc.
You can e.g. have a few arranger tracks feeding a percussion instrument with different takes on separate layers and let EZplayer Pro loop an area, stepping through the layers in order or randomly, all the while another arranger track is feeding the drum track to another instrument.
Play buttons and velocity knobs can be MIDI learned to control them live and this means e.g. that you can arrange a drum track and then use a knob to dynamically affect the overall velocity on that track.
EZplayer Pro can also convert between different drum mappings, like e.g. Slate SSD to Studio Drummer or Addictive Drums 2 to EZdrummer 2.
